Calculate commercial-product injection rates for oil, water, gas and batch treatment systems. Use volumetric ppm, mg/L or gas-volume treatment units with forward and reverse calculations.
Forward and reverse calculationMultiple flow unitsLocal calculation only
Continuous liquid injection
For oil, condensate, water and total-liquid streams using ppm v/v of commercial product.
Water and mass-based dosing
For water-treatment programmes specified in mg/L and for solid or liquid products.
Gas treatment
For corrosion inhibitor, hydrate inhibitor, scavenger and other liquid chemicals dosed per standard gas volume.
Batch, slug and shock treatment
Calculate commercial product required per treatment and total consumption.
This calculator reports volumetric ppm (v/v). Do not label the result ppmw unless mass flows are used. For mass-based dosage, product density and crude density are required when converting from volumetric rates.
Mass basis: ppmw = chemical mass flow / crude mass flow × 106.
Field-use notes
Use the actual calibrated chemical injection rate, not only the pump set point.
Use the crude-flow basis specified by the treatment programme (wet crude versus another defined basis) consistently.
State whether the reported dosage refers to finished commercial product or active equivalent.
